Company History

Our History

The Dishman Group of Companies was founded in 1983 by Janmejay R. Vyas, Chairman of the Dishman Group. Since that time, the Dishman Group's focus has been on the research and development of various in-house technologies to manufacture quaternary ammonium compounds (quats) and active pharmaceutical ingredients.

The first facility of the Dishman Group was built in 1987 in Naroda, near Ahmedabad in India. In 1996 the company initiated its expansion at the Bavla location and recently moved its corporate headquarters within Gujarat's beautiful and bustling city, Ahmedabad.

Through several acquisitions, our Company, now known as DishmanCarbogen Amcis Ltd, has become a global organization with multiple manufacturing facilities in India, Europe, and China, serving the pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, healthcare, and general industries.

“I saw the need for a company that could provide high quality, high-value products, and services and be a good, reliable partner to pharmaceutical companies worldwide. Having a competitive cost base and efficient operations is important, but what’s really key is the quality of our people, the service they provide, and the value they offer to our pharmaceutical customers.”

Janmejay R. Vyas.

Since then, with the major acquisition in 2006 of Carbogen Amcis AG and, in 2007, our vitamin and cholesterol business, Dishman Carbogen Amcis Ltd, has become a global force in service and innovative product development and manufacturing. Staying true to our founding principles, the business continues to move forward with energetic leadership and a focus on innovation with the sole purpose of improving the lives of our fellow human beings.
